Listings policy
Sydney Lindy Hub lists recurring classes and social dances that are useful to the local swing dance community. Listings are curated by volunteers from public organiser sources and record when an editor last verified them.
To suggest an event, email hello@sydneylindyhub.com with the organiser's public source URL, venue, dates, and any known cancellations. Please allow time for a volunteer to check the details.
Location
The local calendar covers Greater Sydney and nearby places that Sydney dancers can reasonably reach for an evening event. The map shows the practical coverage area. Larger events elsewhere in Australia will belong in the future national events directory.
Classes
We list ongoing weekly swing dance classes. One-off workshops may be included when they are part of a listed social or are especially relevant to the Sydney community and have confirmed public details.
Standalone workshops require an editor-approved exception, a confirmed public date, an organiser, a venue and a verified source. Approved workshops appear separately under Workshops and do not repeat automatically.

| Regular Weekly or Fortnightly classes | <%= CITY.sydney? ? "One-off workshops without editorial approval and a confirmed date" : "One-off workshops" %> |

Social dancing
For monthly and occasional events, we publish only dates confirmed by the organiser. We prefer to omit an uncertain date rather than send dancers to an event that has moved or been cancelled.
Live music events are included when the music suits swing dancing and the venue has a practical dance floor.

Music
The table below is just a guideline: a lot of the terms don't have a clear definition and we don't claim a deep understanding of what they all mean. If you're a band and you're not sure whether you fit into this, feel free to send us a recording and we'll let you know.
